What Descript is

Descript is a video and audio editor built around the transcript. Drop in footage, a script or a Zoom call and Descript transcribes it in seconds. From then on, editing the words edits the video: delete a sentence and that moment disappears, move a paragraph and the footage moves with it. A traditional timeline is still there for fine control.

On top of that core idea, Descript has added a large set of AI tools and an AI co-editor called Underlord. Descript says more than 6 million creators and teams use it, including companies such as Amazon, Canva and Spotify.
