How to Create a Demo Script with AI (2026): The Clicks You Will Actually Make
By Andrew · October 24, 2026
A demo script written with AI is the path you will click, in order, with the sentence you will say on each screen and the question you will ask the buyer. The model can turn your outline into spoken lines. It cannot add a feature that is on the roadmap, a customer logo, or a percent saved. If you cannot click it in the build you will show, it stays out of the script.
The leave-behind after the call is how to write a sales one-pager with AI. The competitive page, which is a different file, is how to create a competitive battlecard with AI. The team stack is best AI tools for sales teams.
Prices are US list prices excluding tax from directory pages checked October 16, 2026. Fathom’s prices also match the October 24, 2026 pricing article. Published October 24, 2026. We did not score demos.
What the script is allowed to contain
| Block | Source | The model may |
|---|---|---|
| Who is on the call | Your calendar | Name them. It may not invent a title |
| The outcome you want | One sentence you wrote | Repeat it. It may not add a second close |
| The click path | Screens you verified this week | Order them. It may not add a menu that does not exist |
| The line on each screen | The claim that screen supports | Shorten it. It may not add a metric |
| The question | What you need to learn | Keep it open. It may not supply the buyer’s answer |
| The stop | What you will not show | Honor it, including features that are not shipped |

A rounded “customers see 30% faster onboarding” that started as a hope is a hallucination said out loud. The check is how to fact-check AI writing.
Where the words are drafted
The long outline. Claude Pro is $20 a month, or $17 billed annually. Keep the script in a Project with the screenshots you are willing to describe. The container is Claude Projects vs ChatGPT Projects.
The rep who already lives in chat. ChatGPT Plus is $20. Business is $20 a user a month billed annually, for two or more users, when the outline names a private account. The ladder is ChatGPT Go vs Plus vs Pro.
A one-page version the buyer can keep. Gamma Plus is $9 a seat a month, after the script is true. Do not design the leave-behind from a script you have not clicked through. The deck choice is Gamma vs Beautiful.ai.
The recording of a practice run. Fathom Premium is $16 a month billed annually. Free lists unlimited recordings. Use a practice call, not the buyer’s call, until you know the bot is welcome. The sales-call choice against Otter is Otter vs Fathom for sales calls.
The line edit. Grammarly Pro is $12 a member a month billed annually. It will not know which buttons exist.
A prompt that holds the line:
“Write a demo script from my outline. For each step include the screen name I gave, one sentence I will say, and one question. Use only the steps in the outline. If a metric or a customer is missing, write Missing. Do not add features. Keep each spoken line under 25 words.”
The person who gives the demo is what human-in-the-loop AI is. Enablement’s job, if a team maintains this script for many reps, is best AI tools for enablement teams.
What this page is not
It is not a partner brief. That mutual page is how to write a partner brief with AI. It is not a video ad. Shot length for a generated spot is Runway vs Kling for ads. A demo script that promises a shot you will not click is the same defect as a feature you will not show.
FAQ
How long should a first demo be?
As long as the path you can click without apologizing. A 12-minute path you have run is better than a 30-minute path the model padded. Put the time at the top. Cut steps until the time is true.
Can AI write the discovery questions?
It can rewrite questions you already use. It should not invent the buyer’s pain. Leave a blank where you will listen. A script that answers its own questions is a monologue.
Should the script include pricing?
Only the price you are allowed to say, copied from the rate card. If pricing is custom, the line is that you will scope it. The model does not invent a range.
Can the script update itself from the roadmap?
No. A roadmap item is not a click. When the feature ships, a person adds the step and runs it once. Until then the stop-list stays in the Project.
