Suno Review (2026): Pro at $8 a Year, Commercial Rights, and Studio

By Andrew · October 24, 2026

Suno makes a full song, with vocals, from a prompt or from lyrics you paste in. Free is 50 credits a day and does not include commercial rights or monthly downloads. Pro is the first plan that does: $11/month billed monthly, shown as $8/month with yearly billing, with 2,500 credits. Premier is $35/month billed monthly, with 10,000 credits. Yearly billing saves up to 20%.

Prices are from Suno’s pricing page, checked October 16, 2026. Taxes are calculated at checkout. We did not rank songs against Udio or against a human session. A plan either includes commercial use or it does not. That is the fact this review can stand on.

The plans

PlanPriceCreditsWhat you can ship
Free$050 per dayFree models and standard features. Audio upload up to 8 minutes. No monthly song downloads. No commercial rights. No add-on credit purchases
Pro$11/month, or $8/month on yearly billing2,500 per monthBest models, 20 song downloads a month, commercial rights, two stem-separation types, priority queue, your own voice, custom models
Premier$35/month billed monthly10,000 per monthThe larger credit pool and every feature unlocked

Pro and Premier can buy additional credits and downloads. The yearly Pro figure is the one to use if you will publish. Monthly Pro at $11 is the one to use if you are testing a single month.

Figure (rights diagram, not a product screenshot). Alt: A prompt becomes a song on every plan. Free stops before download-for-the-month and before commercial use. Pro and Premier continue into downloads, commercial rights, stems, and Suno Studio. A separate arrow sends voiceover scripts to ElevenLabs and recorded podcasts to Descript.

If the track is background for a video, the rest of that stack is how to start a faceless YouTube channel. Suno is step 5 in that guide, and only on a plan with commercial rights.

What Pro is paying for besides the song

Suno is no longer only a prompt box. The pricing page and product description list tools that matter once a song is almost right:

  • Suno Studio, a browser DAW for arranging, editing, and mixing.
  • Your voice, on Pro and Premier: record a few seconds and have it sing lyrics you wrote. This is not a spoken voiceover. Spoken narration is ElevenLabs, in ElevenLabs review.
  • Custom models trained on your recordings, also on Pro and Premier.
  • Stems: songs split into time-aligned parts you can open in your own DAW. Pro includes two stem-separation types.
  • Remix and restyle, so a second pass can change the arrangement instead of starting over.

Free can show you whether the model understands a genre. It cannot be the plan on a monetized video, a paid ad, or a client project. ElevenLabs Starter includes commercial use of ElevenLabs’ own music features. That still does not make ElevenLabs a song studio, and it does not make Suno Free commercially safe. Pick the SKU that matches the file.

How to spend the first 50 credits

  1. Write the genre, the tempo feel, the instruments, and who is singing. “Upbeat indie-pop, jangly guitars, female vocal, about a coastal road trip” is a prompt. “A song” is not.
  2. Paste your own chorus if the words matter. Generated lyrics are a draft you will want to replace on anything a person has to sing along to.
  3. Generate more than one version. Daily free credits are for this comparison.
  4. Open the keeper in Studio only after you like the song. Editing a song you would not keep spends the session.
  5. Before you drop it under a YouTube video, a podcast, or an ad, be on Pro or Premier. Read the commercial-rights line at checkout the day you subscribe. This article is not a license.

A YouTube bed and a song you will release on a streaming store are both “commercial” in the ordinary sense. If Suno’s current terms split those uses, the pricing page’s “commercial rights” line is the start of the reading, not the end. When in doubt, do not ship the Free export.

Udio, when you want to edit the song instead of reroll it

Udio is the other music generator in the directory. Free is 100 credits a month, capped at 10 a day, with up to three 130-second songs a day and 2 simultaneous generations. Standard is $10/month or $8/month billed annually ($96/year) for 2,400 credits, and it unlocks Voices, audio uploads, premium Artist Styles, and editing. Pro is $30/month or $24/month annually ($288/year) for 6,000 credits. Extra credits are 100 for $3 or 1,000 for $25. Student pricing exists. Prices can display in USD, GBP, or EUR.

Udio’s strength in our directory notes is section-level control: extend, remix, and edit lyrics and music. We did not confirm a commercial-rights sentence as clear as Suno’s Pro line. Check Udio’s terms before you publish. Do not assume Standard’s $10 includes the same rights Suno prints on Pro.

FAQ

Is Suno free?

Yes. Free includes 50 credits a day. It does not include commercial rights or monthly song downloads. Publishing a song from Free in a monetized video is outside the plan we read.

How much is Suno Pro?

The pricing page showed Pro at $11/month, and at $8/month with yearly billing, during our October 16, 2026 check. Premier was $35/month on monthly billing. Yearly billing saves up to 20%. Confirm the toggle you select.

Can I use Suno music on YouTube?

Only on a plan that includes commercial rights. That is Pro or Premier, not Free. Keep the receipt of the plan you were on when you generated the track. A faceless channel workflow is linked above. The voice on that channel is a separate subscription.
